The Ten Commandments of Course E-Mail
I. Thou Shalt Use the Course's Number (201) to Start your Subject Line: Inappropriately entitled e-mails may accidentally be deleted as junk mail. II. Thou Shalt Not Expect an Immediate Answer: I will try to respond to e-mail within 48 hours, and I may respond to similar questions in a single discussion board response for the edification of all. III. Thou Shalt Speak with Me Face to Face Concerning Critical Issues: Important issues that need resolution really deserve personal communication for the sake of clarity and appropriate responsiveness. See me in my office. IV. Thou Shalt Not Address Time-Critical Matters by E-Mail: For issues that need immediate attention, speak to me in person or by phone.
