Teaching English as a Second Language
I am currently interested in the socio-linguistic differences between male and female speech and how that communicative competence should be taught to ESL students. I think that it is an important skill that all language learners must master in order to completely function in the host culture. Without these skills, ESL speakers will never be able to completely enter their peer groups, promoting isolation and misunderstanding as a result

Rhetoric and Composition
18th Century Rhetorical Theories and Application to the Enlish Composition Classroom:
I am currently researching the modified rhetorical triangle that Hugh Blair presents in his book "Lectures on Rhetoric and Belles Lettres." The emphasis of this research is the creation of style and taste through a constant negotiation between the writer and the audience.

E-mail Peer Review:
I am interested in the different types of comments that are made by students on e-mail versus hand written. The comments seems to be more thought out sentences on a local scale while having a greater positive effect on the global revisions seen
